In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul explains how every part of God's Body (the church) has a unique & vital role to play. There are no spiritual "superstars" in Jesus' church, just everyday people using their one-of-a-kind gifts to contribute to the whole. And when God's people come together to "be the Body" something incredible happens: God's presence becomes visible in our broken world. Here's a cute story I heard once about Jim. He's the "finger" in a church body--the dude responsible for clicking the message slides and lyrics each weekend. Jim's got one of those thankless jobs where, if you do it perfectly, no one notices. But if you screw up, everyone complains. (Kinda like a referee.) Although Jim's job is invisible to most people who attend the church--it's INDISPENSIBLE in the larger mission of partnering with Jesus to change the world. No Jesus, no salvation. No Jim, no service. That sort of thing. What are your unique gifts/talents? How about partnering with The Journey and using your gifts and talents.
